Vale Indonesia Tbk (formerly PT International Nickel Indonesia Tbk) (INCO) was established on July 25, 1968 and started its commercial operations in 1978. The head office is located in The Energy INCO Building Lt. 31, SCBD Lot 11 A, Jl. Jend. Sudirman Kav. 52-53, Jakarta 12190, INCO factory is located in Sorowako, South Sulawesi.
Shareholders who own 5% or more shares of Vale Indonesia Tbk (05/31/2015), among others: Vale Canada Limited (58.73%) and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (20.09%). Vale Canada Limited is the parent company of INCO while Vale S.A., a perushaaan founded in Brazil is the main controller INCO.
Based on the Articles of Association, the scope of the INCO activity is in the exploration and mining, processing, storage, transportation and marketing of nickel along with other related mineral products. Currently, INCO nickel mine and process ore into nickel in matte (products used in the manufacture of refined nickel) with mining and processing integrated in Sorowako - Sulawesi.
In 1990, INCO obtained the effective statement from Bapepam-LK to perform INCO's Initial Public Offering (IPO) to the community as much as 49,681,694 with a nominal value of Rp1,000, - per share with offering price Rp9.800, - per share. The shares were listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on May 16, 1990.
