PTBA sell coal to domestic and export markets at competitive prices. Sales can be based on long-term sales contracts and through the spot market, while the selling price is always based on the international thermal coal prices.
TBA operates three storage (stockpile) of coal in Tanjung Enim Mining Unit. Each is equipped with a feed stockpile breakers and coal conveyor system with a capacity of 1500-1700 tons per hour (tph) and a charging station with a capacity of 2000-2800 cubic meters per hour.
The first stockpile is used to store the results of the Air Laya coal mines and mining Unit Muara Tiga Besar. Both to save coal stockpile of Mining Unit Muara Tiga Besar. While the third to keep the coal stockpile of mining Unit West Banko.
Air Laya coal from being transported to the stockpile through conveyor or transporter to Bukit Asam Power Plant.
Coal from stockpiles then transported by rail to the port. PTBA has a long-term contract with state-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia, to transport coal to the coal terminal in Lampung EVAL or Harbor Kertapati in Palembang. EVAL Coal Terminal is situated about 410 km from Tanjung Enim to Lampung and Port of Port Kertapati about 190 km from Tanjung Enim to Palembang.
Trains to EVAL Coal Terminal consists of 46 carriages with a capacity of 50 tons each, while trains to the Port Kertapati consists of 35 carriages with a capacity of 30 tons each. At EVAL Coal Terminal and the Port Kertapati, PTBA also has a stockpile which is equipped with a freighter.
